AmaWaterways is an all-inclusive river cruise company with 20 years in the industry. While it is not strictly adults-only, the target population is adults. No children under the age of 5 are allowed. Children must be under the supervision of an adult at all times. There are no children-exclusive amenities on the ship. Therefore, if you’re planning to include children, it is recommended that they are over the age of 13.
What is included?
All a-la-carte fine dining, with beverages, including beer, wine, soda, water and coffee. Food is locally-
sourced. Dietary needs are met.
All small-group guided shore excursions. Guests can select between gentle, regular or active excursions, and the occasional excursions for late risers who want to sleep in.
Live local entertainment.
Wellness activities onboard, as well as all lectures.
Complimentary bicycles and wi-fi.

Avalon Waterways
First of all, Avalon has a commitment to guest’s health and happiness, not only by adhering to strict disinfection procedures, but also by not having air circulating between staterooms. Air only circulates within the stateroom and it’s mixed with the fresh air that comes in from the unique open-air balcony design.
Avalon’s entire fleet of Suite Ships® in Europe and Southeast Asia features incomparable Panorama SuitesSM with the widest windows in river cruising that transform their suites into their signature Open Air BalconiesSM. Each stateroom is its own balcony with beds facing the windows, not a TV on a wall. State-rooms include wi-fi.
Avalon Waterways offers FlexDining, where guests can dine in any dining venue and choose their time. All meals include a-la-carte breakfast and lunch, fresh locally-sourced ingredients, and drinks are included with meals.
Each ship offers an Adventure Center, where guests can check out bikes, binoculars, Fit Bits, and more. They can also grab a Nordic walking stick, or book a yoga class, a guided hike or run or an optional canoe excursion.

Avalon also offers Active & Discovery River Cruise itineraries for those seeking deeper immersion in each destination. These cruises are only available in the Danube, Rhine, Rhone, and Holland & Belgium cruises. These cruises offer more unique port cities, more time at each port for exploration, more day sailing that allows for more scenic stretches during daylight, and more included excursions.
While most river cruises are about the same in length of sailing (7-15 days average), Avalon offers shorter sailings for those new to river cruising or for those who simply don’t have much time available from work with cruises sailing for 4-6 days.
